To register your organization with UniversalLanguage for interpreter services through the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) Interpreter Services (IS) Program, please complete the following steps:
1. Have an approved representative complete and sign the Provider Registration Agreement available at the link below:
2. Provide us with your selected UniversalLanguage Account Admins by filling out the designation form available at the link below. These admins will be the contacts between your organization and UniversalLanguage for all account changes and updates:
3. Working with your selected UniversalLanguage Account Admins, we will set up your organization’s account, Authorized Requester logins, and any needed additional locations.
What is the Provider Registration Agreement?
The Provider Registration Agreement is a one-time registration necessary to enroll qualifying organizations to access UniversalLanguage’s services under the HCA Interpreter Service contracts (K2474 In-Person and K4724 OPI-VRI)

What is the cost?
There is no cost to set up or maintain an account with UniversalLanguage! Interpreter services requested through the HCA contracts for your Apple Health (Medicaid) eligible clients are billed directly to the HCA.
The HCA interpreter services can favorably impact your organization by saving a lot of money, reducing your annual budget for interpreting services, and helping maintain compliance with state and federal language access requirements.

Information Regarding Interpreter Services Through the HCA
Interpreter services are available through the Health Care Authority (HCA) for Medicaid health care professionals to gain access to skilled and qualified spoken language interpreters for Apple Health (Medicaid) clients who require assistance during their health care services. Providers are required to ensure spoken language access according to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Your facility can request In-Person, Phone Pre-Scheduled, and Video Pre-Scheduled types of jobs under the current HCA contracts after submitting a signed Provider Registration Agreement. Please contact the Customer Accounts Support team at accounts@ulsonline.net if you are unsure about your organization’s current agreement status.
How do I request interpreters?
To request an interpreter through the HCA contract, your organization/facility must be registered with UniversalLanguage, and you must have a login to our online scheduling portal. If your organization is registered, but you do not yet have an online scheduling portal login, please contact your organization’s UniversalLanguage Account Admin.
